1 Minutes of Meeting – Monday 4th June 2018 – 8pm at the The Vicarage, Holmes Chapel Present approx 16 members including the committee Apologies: Pat Guerin, Nikki Phillips, Anna Mather Chairman’s Report – Joy Joy chaired the meeting and welcomed everyone • The minutes from 23rd April 2018 meeting were accepted • Anyone coming to the events to ride must be a current member of BBA • Jane Ridley from North Staffs bridleways has put in some bridleway claims on which she has been working for many years. Staffordshire have 104 claims to sort out by October • There was a suggestion that we should run a mini camp later in the year – Liz investigating a one day activity with SJ and XC or a farm ride. • Dressage will be July 9th • Dog agility will be on 14 July starting at 6-6.30pm – always a fun night so please come along • Cheshire, Derbyshire and Lancashire entrance groups all run pleasure rides alongside their endurance rides and it is worth checking their websites to see what is coming up Treasurer’s report – Maggie Marincovic Deposit a/c 10671.53 Cash 0 Current a/c 6974.88 Total 17646.41 Membership- Elizabeth Goda This year so far we have: 62 renewed adults, 11 honorary, 3 juniors Social Report – Pat Guerin • Thursday evening flatwork lessons are currently full but please contact Jan if you interested in case odd spaces become available • It as agreed to organise more polework and drill riding sessions at Hunters Gate after holiday season • XC on 6th June at 6.30pm at Smallwood is now full. • SJ is now busy as well with a range of abilities and so the groups have been split so please check times on the website or face book. AOB • Sara and Hannah Rush raised a couple of bridleway issues in Congleton: a multi user path which does not have appropriate signage and a gate near North Rode Park which would be difficult to open on horseback. They will progress these by contacting [email protected] • Kristine will chase up the bridleway claims submitted in Moston, Sandbach a couple of years ago. • A permissive quarry path has been re routed through boggy ground and after an incident a concerned party complained and now path has been closed. Sara and Hannah to provide details to Joy and Anndrea to understand if anything can be done • Water tower ride near Knutsford – Jan to progress concerns about the width of the bridlepath Next meeting: 2 July at 8pm at the Vicarage, Holmes Chapel 2 Upcoming BBA events SJ Training: Running sessions 13, 20, 27 June sessions will start at 7pm (check website or facebook for your times)- please let Joy or Pat know if you are interested. All abilities catered for. £15 per session or all 3 sessions for £42 Flat Work: Running on alternate Thursdays at 6.30pm, Sarah Johnson, cost £14 Venue: Hunters Gate, Contact: Jan Dobson Pole work/working equitation exercises: to be arranged in September at Hunters Gate. Instructor: Sarah Johnson Cost £13 Daytime lessons spaces available at Alsager on Tuesday 10.30 – 11.30 Contact Pat Dressage: at Alsager Equestrian Centre on Monday evenings, Monday 9th July. We start at 6.30 and will try to accommodate people who need an early or later time. Entry fees are £12 to members and £14 to non members. Times will be on the website on the preceding Sunday. Entries and enquiries to [email protected] It is an indoor competition with an outdoor working in area. The classes are: Intro B, Preliminary 13,Novice 34 and Elementary 44 XC schooling at Smallwood – evening session of cross country schooling with Joy Toomer at Smallwood Livery Centre at 6.30pm on 6th June. The entry fee will be £25. Body protectors must be worn. Entries to Pat Guerin [email protected] Dog agility and barbecue 14 July. This is, very kindly, held at the home of Mr and Mrs Jonathon Bossens, Puddlebank, Congleton Edge Road, Mossley, Congleton CW12 3NB. We hold a raffle and have rosettes and small prizes for the dog agility, normally best male handler, best female and best junior. We make a small charge of £5 for burgers and hot dogs. We ask everyone to bring a dish of savoury or sweet food
